
Dr. Nicole Anderson
Visual Psychophysics
Dr. Nicole Anderson is a current associate professor in the Psychology Department at MacEwan University, where she teaches and conducts research in Perception (specializing in Visual Psychophysics) with undergraduate students. Her area of expertise is in Vision Science, which broadly concerns understanding how the visual system works. Coming from a small rural community in southwestern Ontario, Dr. Anderson was not aware of this as a career choice until well into her university experience. Although she entered university as a Fine Arts major, she ended up switching into the Psychology program at Western University, and subsequently completed her PhD at McMaster University specializing in Visual Psychophysics. During her postdoctoral fellowship, she worked with Dr. Hugh Wilson in the Centre of Vision Research at York University, where she completed research investigating face and complex object perception.
