Jessica Grenke

Jessica Grenke is a PhD student at the University of Alberta. She was originally from outside Stony Plain, Parkland County, and was lucky enough to spend lots of time at Chickakoo Recreational Area growing up. By high school, she knew she wanted a career that let her care for the natural areas she loved so much. At the University of Alberta, she found that applied research offered many opportunities to do so, while also managing for the many stakeholder groups who rely on these natural areas. After pursuing three undergraduate research projects (two of which were published) and working for local, provincial, and federal levels of government, she is wrapping up her PhD studies in ecology.
