Sara Blunk

Animal Cognition

Sara Blunk is a MSc student currently studying at the University of Alberta with the Animal Cognition Research Group (ACRG) under Dr. Lauren Guillette. Throughout her years of university, Sara has been focusing her studies on birds. Completing her undergraduate studies at Kansas State University with a Bachelors of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, she has worked on several ornithology studies. Mostly regarding survival rates in the Kansas tallgrass prairie for several different bird species. Currently, she is in Psychology, and studying the social behaviours in zebra finches. Sara is interested in studying culture in bird populations in the context of traditions in structure building (i.e. ness and bowers) and how different aspects of the environment affect the traditions within a population.
